About Me
It's not the destination that counts but the journey. Both therapists and their clients learn from one another allowing for growth in numerous ways. We are on the same journey just with different destinations. I began my journey at the Loma Linda University MEND program that provided partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient, and outpatient therapy to youth, adults and families battling complexed medical conditions. I specialized in running my own youth IOP program for ages 11-21 while seeing parents, siblings and families in a 1:1 setting. Within my time at Loma Linda I worked with a variety of symptomatology and current stressors specific to adjustment issues, youth behavioral problems, self harm, self esteem, depression, school problems, learning disabilities, and family conflicts. Though my area of expertise was focused on a higher level of care I look forward to working with the uniqueness of every individual, couple and family.
What a journey you have bravely decided to embark on. Therapy... like life is a roller coaster filled with moments of pure exhilaration and even terror. How we learn and become the best versions of ourselves is not through the simplest or even easiest of times but rather when we are in the darkest moments in our lives. Working together will be challenging and at times annoying but with trust, honest and most importantly respect, both wins and losses will be celebrated.
With a history of working in a setting that offered partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient services at Loma Linda University with specialization in complexed medical conditions. The youth IOP track that I ran supported clients struggling with adjustment issues, behavioral problems and the emotional toll that can accompany chronic pain with medical illnesses. My clinical focus included assisting youth and their families with depression, low self-esteem, and self-harm offering evidence-based interventions tailored to each person’s unique needs. My experience also encompassed families facing conflict, as well as parents and children managing learning disabilities, school related problems, and the complexities of parent through stress or change. By integrating therapeutic techniques that promote resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy communication, my ultimate goal is to empower clients to build coping skills, strengthen relationships, develop healthier patterns of thinking and behavior, and become a better more self actualized individual.
