Hi there, I’m Yesenia! My goal is to support you and empower you as the expert in your life! My approach is to work with you as a partnership to achieve the goals identified in your individualized treatment plan by identifying your strengths and helping you re-frame challenges as opportunities for growth.

As a first-generation BIPOC woman, I can relate and empathize with the societal challenges being of a minority descent can bring. I will provide you with extensive support and tools to navigate through these challenges, honor your experiences and empower you to be the best version of yourself!

My Psychotherapy approach is a partnership between the client and the therapist. My practice provides person-centered care with eclectic interventions. The modalities are catered to treating the specific needs of the client. Some examples of therapeutic interventions used are: motivational interviewing, person centered, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy.

My ideal client is open-minded and is willing to trust the process to reach their established goals. I feel it is critical for the therapist to take into account a person’s cultural background, including their socioeconomic status, spirituality, etc., and it’s influence on the therapeutic experience.

My communication style consists of motivational interviewing techniques to foster a positive and future-oriented environment. I think it is extremely important to listen, paraphrase the client’s statements and provide feedback. I want my client to be confident that I am engaged and invested in helping provide them with the tools to reach their therapeutic goals.
